Insurance Defense Attorney – Commercial Auto - Tampa

We are looking to hire an excellent Attorney to join the staff of our dynamic and growing insurance company’s Legal Firm and assist us with litigation of Commercial Automobile Insurance Defense cases in the Tampa area. 


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Insurance Defense experience with 3 or more first chair jury trials.
  • Prior experience with commercial auto litigation is preferred.
  • Decision-making ability to set work priorities and make recommendations is a must.
  • Must be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar

 

 

Legal Secretary

 

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary to join the staff of our dynamic and growing insurance company’s Legal Firm.

You will be responsible for preparation of pleadings, motions and discovery, providing administrative support, including transcriptions, conducting light research, drafting letters, scheduling hearings and depositions and managing the Attorneys' calendars.
 

 

Requirements:

 

This position requires a minimum of 3 years Legal Assistant, Paralegal and/or Legal Secretary experience in Civil Litigation, preferably in Insurance Liability Defense.

We are seeking a talented individual with a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Database applications) are imperative.

 

Claims Adjuster – Bodily Injury

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess BI and litigated BI claims from initial report to final disposition in a manner that serves the legitimate interest of each insured, claimant, AequiCap, Inc., and employee.
  • Responsible for the negotiation of fair settlements on all types of claims assigned as experience, training and performance warrants within authorization limits assigned, or after properly securing necessary authorization.
  • Assure claims are fairly and accurately evaluated in accordance with established standards of quality and time lines which may include auto damage, bodily injury, personal injury protection, medical payments, contractual property damage liability, subrogation or physical damage evaluation of auto.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years BI adjusting experience.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and Claims Management Database.  ConceptOne and Image Right knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team matrix environment to achieve claims objectives.
  • Strong customer service skills with professional telephone etiquette.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Legal Secretary - Collections

AequiCap has an exciting career opportunity for an assertive Legal Secretary in our Insurance Group’s Claims Subrogation Collections Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Drafting of pleadings, discovery and various letters

·         Scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings

·         Communicate and coordinate with judicial assistants and attorneys’ offices

·         Tasking deadlines and additional support staff responsibilities

·         Work closely with process server to perfect service

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Paralegal.
  • Experience working in a collections environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of claims subrogations and MCS-90’s is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with imaged documents is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of Amicus is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team matrix environment to achieve collections objectives.
  • Motivated by the successful collections.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Stable work history.
  • Ability to easily commute to our location.
